Lol.  Drew likes to keep that sort of information to himself 'til we leave so there is no backing out! huh grin Will probably be fun no matter where we go.  I'd like to check out the FB.  See you there in an hour or so.

Was a good time this weekend.

Saturday, I got on Tremont for the first time at low flow.  A few scrapes and bruises to the hands and ANOTHER broken Werner paddle, but it was all worth it.  During the second run, during a boof stroke on a 5 foot ledge, my paddle got wedged solidly in a small crack in the rock I was boofing.  I was immediately clotheslined by the shaft, and felt like an explosion.  I catapautled under it, landing stern first, then upside down in a small hole above two other ledges.  It happened so fast, I didn't know what happened, but remained calm,  handrolled up and paddled hard with bare hands for about 20 seconds to get into a tiny microeddy (paddle still lodged in rock and hanging out in front of the drop).  Took me a while to unlodge the paddle, and that was the end of my day, but we headed over to the Little afterwards, where Drew and Boyd ran a lap from above the Meanies to the Elbow.  They said the sinks were "Fluffy".  I should have held out for a run on the little vs. a second lap on Tremont.

Sunday, Boyd let me borrow his breakdown paddle and therefore, I had no excuse for NOT running Johnnies with Drew, Sammie, and Boyd.  It was a BLAST!!!  shocked shocked shocked shocked grin  Can you say STEEP??!?!

The Drewventures keep gettin' better (or should I say...more intense!  rolleyes).  Looking forward to creek week, but may need to borrow a paddle while my two paddles get sent for repair.

Gambled on the smokies in hope of a rising Big Creek but no dice... we fired up a low but solid tremont instead... still a classic smokies creek.

Sunday was the day we were waiting for... Johnnies Creek!!!  grin  It's a class IV creek with a similar feel to the Green Narrows.... continuous as a video game but still friendly pool drop style...  it's the Green's smaller Redneck cousin.  Jeff was a bit nervous I think but did very well... Sam remembered why it's her favorite run!  Drew was his normal self and I had my mischievious grin as we pealed out to run the creeks "big suprise" wink  From there me and Drew had to get more so we did a race style lap with Adam Goshorn and Mark Travis... truly done in style.  After some vertical wavewheels in my Hero on the lower chairlift section... Drew decided he'd had enough and that it was time for dinner lol  rolleyes

Good trip!  you guys missed a fun one!

Sounds like a really fun run. I am never sure how big or difficult to think Johnnies is by the way people talk about it. I look forward to it when I am ready for it, not sure if that is now or not. We ran into a guy on Short Sunday in a brand new boat; he had broken one on Johnnnies Saturday. Definitely sounds like I missed a great trip.
