The EddyFlower Vertical Challenge kicks off in 13 days.  Register a team (up to five paddlers) in one of the 4 divisions, raise funds for one of the best non-profit in kayaking: First Descents, and paddle from May 15th - June 15th!  At the end of the event, the team in each division with the most vertical feet is crowned champion.  Prizes include:

This comp is a blatant rip-off of the original TVF Comp put on by steepcreeks.com out of the southeast. It would have been better if they would have sought permission from steepcreeks before copying and pasting their rules & regulations. Helping a non-profit organization such as First Descents is cool, doing it by stealing from fellow boaters is not.

Not to be rude, but it would have also been nice if they would have asked permission before using on of my pictures as well. That's the picture of Boyd that Fortress used in their ad in Kayak Session.

since they don't show Fortress, Kayak Session, Jackson Kayak, Boyd, or Sammie as a sponsor... and did not ask permission to use the image, they are definitely in violation of your copyright. and NO removing logos and modifying the images does not give him the right to use it. if YOU didn't give permission he is in violation.

(they drilled copyright rules into my head for my "professional Practices" class when i was in graphic design at state tech)

They did email me and ask permission to post about the contest - at the time I didnt realize it was DIFFERENT competition that the one Pojo was taking part in. Had I realised at the time this was a ripoff from SteepCreeks.com I would have asked they not post about it with out explaining it was a completely different organization and event than the steepcreeks competition.

He's really owes me $150 in lost media incentive for that. literally, by not giving me credit and by removing the logos that's what I lost out on based on the exposure he gave the photo.    and that's a conservative estimate...      We'd have given him a photo if he had just asked. (not that one...maybe one from that set of frames)

O well... that guy could use some creativity...  I know Brad Ludden and I'd do anything to help First Descents, but Brad wouldn't want to be helped that way, by "stealing from other boaters" as Mike put it.  uuuuuuuughuhg  O well.     Maybe I'm just bitter from school...
